Wholehealth Medica’s Mental Wellness Program prioritizes a comprehensive, coordinated, and person-centered approach to mental health care, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and equity.
WHM has implemented a centralized referral system. This system allows family physicians and other healthcare providers to refer patients to our specialists through a single point of access, rather than having to navigate multiple referral processes. This referral system structure helps to streamline the referral process and reduce wait times for patients.
WHM’s Mental Wellness Program employs mental health professionals including psychiatrists, who are trained to diagnose and treat mental illness and to provide high-quality and evidence-based care to individuals struggling with mental health issues.
Our program includes various treatment modalities such as psychotherapy & counselling and medication management.
The psychiatrists may be involved in conducting assessments, providing diagnosis, prescribing medications, and monitoring the progress of the patients.
Our program also offers support services such as education, outreach, and referral to other healthcare providers as needed.
According to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s website, there were approximately 2,400 psychiatrists registered with the College as of December 2021.
